Candela Team Completes Key Hires: Kevin Schroeder, Sarah Spector and Jenny Nicolas
Kevin Schroeder: Director, Finance
Sarah Spector: Manager, Origination
Jenny Nicolas: Senior Associate, Development
We’re excited to announce that Candela has completed three key new hires to expand its team. As our business continues to mark significant milestones, like our recent capital raise, it’s important for us to grow with people who bring capabilities and experience under our roof. When we founded Candela Renewables, we set out to impact the renewable energy space, doing so in a company not constrained by limited financial structures or legacy technology. To achieve that, we needed to assemble a superior, independent solar energy and storage team that can create and commercialize power at utility scale. With these hires, we’re continuing to do exactly that, and taking a significant step forward to build a top-tier solar company for the future.
With that in mind, we’d like to introduce Kevin Schroeder, Sarah Spector and Jenny Nicolas. All have worked for some of the most prominent companies in solar energy. We are welcoming back Kevin, since he previously worked with much of the Candela team at First Solar Inc., before working at ENGIE. We are also welcoming Sarah from Clearway Energy Group and Jenny from GE Solar.
Kevin has assumed the Director, Finance position. Kevin has over 13 years of experience holding financial positions within the renewable energy space. He was previously with ENGIE’s Renewables Division where he managed financial planning and reporting for project development, construction and asset management products across solar and wind technologies, and spent nearly eight years at First Solar, culminating as the Finance Director, Sales & Systems FP&A. He holds a M.B.A from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and B.S. in Microbiology from UC San Diego.
Sarah has joined as Manager, Origination. She held previous positions with Clearway, where she supported the construction and financing of over 125 projects across the U.S. for commercial and public sector customers, and NRG Energy, where she led analysis, developed customer value propositions, and created pricing models for 280 MW worth of projects. She holds a B.S. from Amherst College.
Jenny joins Candela as a Senior Associate, Development. During her time at GE, Jenny helped lead projects on behalf of Distributed Solar Development, a strategic partnership between BlackRock and GE Renewable Energy. She aided the organization in developing solar PV and storage solutions for the commercial, industrial and public sectors for a portfolio of over 100 PV and energy storage projects amounting to ~120 MWs distributed across the U.S. Jenny has her MS from The University of Edinburgh.
It’s an exciting time in Candela’s journey with an active pipeline of 3.2 GW utility scale solar projects and 2 GW of co-located energy storage. These new team additions are integral to helping us continue to execute successfully and at scale, and bolster our pipeline even further.
Welcome, Kevin, Sarah and Jenny. We can’t wait to do great work together.
