Candela Matches Funds and Raises $10k for Mayer High School

Candela Renewables recently initiated a gift matching program to support the education of Mayer High School students in Yavapai County, Arizona. Candela matched generous contributions from employees and friends to raise a total of $10,200 for Mayer High School. This initiative underscores Candela’s commitment to advancing education in Yavapai County, and our determination to contribute positively to the areas where we develop projects.

The funds are designated for the purchase of new textbooks for Mayer High School, providing students with the latest educational materials for the next five to six years. These textbooks will arrive in time for the 2024-2025 school year to support Mayer High School’s 182 students who are most in need.

In addition to the contributions to Mayer High School, the Candela team is also committed to ongoing engagement with the local community. In April, the Candela team presented an overview of our proposed Agua Fria Solar Project to the Mayer School Board, engaging in constructive discussions about the proposed project’s benefits to the community. The warm reception expressed by the school board was indicative of the strong relationships Candela strives to maintain with the communities surrounding our projects.

Through initiatives like the Mayer High School fundraiser and the ongoing development of the Agua Fria Solar Project, Candela Renewables remains committed to providing renewable energy and enriching the communities we serve.

The proposed project is poised to benefit the local community over the project’s 35-year lifespan, with an estimated $27.7 million allocated to support the Yavapai County School District, Community College, Fire Department, and more. Furthermore, our investment in the Arizona State Lands Trust will contribute over $1.2 million annually to statewide educational needs, reinforcing our commitment to the long-term prosperity of Arizona’s communities.

We look forward to continuing our journey of contributing to the prosperity of Yavapai County and beyond.
