GEOFF BAXTER, Chief technical officer
Geoff is responsible for the technical aspects of Candela’s projects, including interconnection, engineering, procurement, and execution. This includes project development scopes such as technology evaluation, conceptual design, energy storage, constructability, and cost estimating, as well as collaboration on site diligence and permitting.
Geoff has 26 years of experience in solar and conventional power project development, construction, and operations, including 16 years of utility-scale solar project development and construction. Prior to Candela, Geoff was Senior Vice President of EPC and Operations at Recurrent Energy, where he helped build one of the industry's largest pipelines of operating solar projects.
Prior to Recurrent, Geoff was Managing Director of EPC at SunPower. Geoff also served in senior development engineering roles at NextLight and First Solar, where he helped commercialize utility-scale solar projects at the start of industry. His experience includes more than 2.9 GW of solar PV projects and 400 MW of solar thermal projects currently in operation.
Geoff received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the California Polytechnic State University - San Luis Obispo. He then received his Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University. Geoff is a licensed mechanical engineer in California.
